Food ordering apps have become increasingly popular in recent years because they provide a convenient and efficient way for its customers to order food from their comfort. Client has restaurant food chains at multiple locations including Egypt, Canada, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon and more along with some tie-ups with the club having same interest.

Client’s requirement was to build a food ordering and delivery platform where there customers can order food instantly from their restaurants with the convenience of their mobile or computer and get their order cooking as soon as you request along with the options to deliver, pickup or takeaway.

Team lead from Techbit assigned analysts to design the roadmap to accomplish the project more effectively and their research also includes the “satisfaction of consumers by using online food services” which would deal with consumer behaviour & helps to analyse their perceptions & will also help us to understand consumer equilibrium. Through these platforms, sharing one’s experience with has become so easy, in the form of reviews, be it regarding a product brought or any kind of service availed.

Project Objective

After thorough analysis, team came-up with the proposal and scope of work to build a food ordering app that will be designed to simplify the process of ordering food from restaurant by allowing customers to browse menus, place orders, and pay for their meals all through a single platform. The objective of a food ordering app is to provide a convenient and efficient way for customers to order food from any of the client’s restaurants without having to physically visit the location or wait on hold to place their order or else they can pick the order or takeaway.

Application built offered a user-friendly interface and a variety of payment options to customer’s ease and with that app had help client increase their sales and reach a wider audience, while also providing customers with a more convenient way to order food on-the-go. Overall, the primary objective of a food ordering app was to improve the customer experience by streamlining the ordering process and making it as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Challenges

Developing a ‘Zaatar W Zeit’ was little complex and challenging process as primary technical challenges was to ensure that the app will be compatible with various mobile platforms, devices, and screen sizes. It was also essential to make sure that the app could handle high volumes of traffic and store user data securely. Another significant challenge was creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface which would makes app easy for users to navigate through menus, select items, and complete their orders. Integrating with third-party systems such as payment gateways, delivery service providers, and restaurant POS systems was complicated and time-consuming.

Whereas managing menus, keeping them updated, and ensuring that prices and promotions are accurate was also challenging, especially when dealing with multiple restaurant and on different locations. Finally, collecting and analysing user data to understand user behaviour, but it was necessary to improve the app’s features continually. Techbit team was highly skilled, creative, and flexible to overcome the obstacles and deliver an app to meet the needs of users while providing value to stakeholders.
